Every time I stop drinking I am able to have sex but it is really hard to finish. I am a man. Does this get better or is this the new normal. I finally started to go to AA and feel I can stick with sobriety this time. But the sexual aspect is really bringing me down.
I am also eating a lot of sugar to cope. Wonder if sugar is part of the issue. I can try to cut that out and see what happens.
Drugs mess with sexual function. Orgasm is caused by endogenous opioids. Alcohol imitates opioids in aloholics, so it can stop you finishing. I never had the issue but it's common.
On Heroin I couldn't even get an erection. I'd occssionally have wet dreams at 40-something (so embarassing but i'm here to tell the truth). Now I'm on methadone it's improving but smaller. At least I can have sex again.
Drugs **** **** up man.
