I'm a man as well and experienced this though I was on a SSRI when I first quit. I brought it up with my doctor and she told me it was probably a combination of the SSRI and my brain reworking itself and to not be discouraged immediately. It did get better about 6 months out but didn't really return to normal until I quite the SSRI. Don't know if this isn't that common or people are just a little timid but I hope my experience helps you with an answer.
