The flooding missed Adelaide, North/E/W. The problem being the water takes a longtime to recede...one area it drains to is Lake Eyre. A salt pan, the largest in the world, I checked- making up 17% of Australia's landmass. Only filling up measured in years/decades....birds, god knows how they know, fly vast distances to breed in this very temporary oasis.
