Millions and millions and millions of us love our alcoholics. If we didn't love them, then there would be no need for help. We could all simply and dispassionately walk away. We all love our alcoholics. All the same, our loved ones are alcoholics.
I came to see drinking as completely beside the point. Drinking, sober, drunk, whatever.
How do I feel in this relationship? That is the important question.
