Hi GreenStar - thanks for a great post. I'm so glad you've come to this conclusion.
I know what you mean about admitting you don't enjoy it anymore. For years, the memory of how fun it once was kept me clinging to it. I had to admit that every time it was in my system it led to an unexpected, sometimes dangerous, outcome. It was keeping me from dealing with problems head on. I was disgusted with myself in the end. That's what it took - and now I have 12 yrs. sober. You can do it, too.
