Dragon, a couple years ago, I accidentally discovered an underground yellow jacket nest hidden under a tree root. If you are just seeing a couple, presume there is a whole nest nearby. Wait until late evening or early morning to deal with them. They will all be in the nest and very sluggish to respond to your presence. I hope your bite heals quickly.

Another walk on an unspoiled beach early this morning. This one entailed a longish walk through marshes and scrub vegetation to get to the beach. There were tons of birds and wildlife to watch. I saw this whitish crab racing across the sand, only to disappear down a burrow in the sand. I found out they are appropriately called ghost crabs.
