Just awoke from a solid 10 hours of sleep. I rarely get such good REM sleep because of how alcohol disrupts sleep patterns. It feels good to be fully rested and 3 days sober. A rarity for me.

I can't mess this one up. I have spent 3000 dollars the past 6 weeks on booze and cigarettes. I don't smoke unless drinking for the most part so I save so much money by cutting all vices out.

A friend from high school died last year at age 43. His heart just stopped in his sleep. He had a history of substance abuse worse than mine. I am about to turn 44 so I will honour him by living sober past 43.
