As part of my whole management system, I would often keep the "evidence" separate from the household recycling. The previous night's cans and/or bottles would often go into the box they came in, or a small trash bag, and would go straight to the trash storage at the shed to be hauled off. But the recycling tubs still stayed full of beer cans and bottles with the wine bottles mixed in, and an occasional liquor bottle.
