I'm glad you joined us. Tapering off alcohol for us alcoholics, is really, really difficult. Most of us have tried, often multiple times, and failed. It's actually much easier to stop completely. If you're concerned about withdrawal symptoms, you could contact your doctor or go to an ER if necessary.
Basically, take care of your body, drink a lot of water, eat as well as you can, and get some exercise when you are able to. Those things will help you get through the early days of sobriety.
It's also a good idea to come up with a recovery plan that will work for you so you have something in place when the cravings come along.
