Need a little help on explaining to a friend how her father struggling with alcoholism and not taking any suggestions from other recovering alcoholics, can not change the way he is. The friend is not alcoholic. Would like to explain it as simple and precise as possible so the non alcoholic can understand.
This is a sample of the feelings she has in a recent letter she sent me.
"I just don't understand that kind of addiction....It must really suck!!!! But I do believe everyone has a choice every morning they wake up. It is a choice you make everyday to live the way you do....And if you don't sincerely like it , then you will change! I just don't under stand some people, but everyone has to perfect their soul one way or the other..."
