You are right, she probably won’t understand. Most people do not understand addiction and never will.
Having said that, it really doesn’t matter if she does or not: Your sobriety is a choice that you have made for yourself. Whether your mother understands why is irrelevant. You know exacltv what will happen if you drink, that’s why you came here for help. We do understand - and that’s why everyone is telling you that you’ll never have just one....one sip and game over.
What you tell her doesn’t matter, just don’t drink the wine.
