To me it is important to understand that the boundaries have little to nothing to do with others. No one can "ram" your boundaries as an action on the part of someone else just means that you will remove yourself.
When I left my qualifier, I didn't intellectually understand boundaries and certainly never discussed them with him. However I did understand that I needed certain conditions to remain in the relationship and he could not comply with these so I left.
