A Thank You On 11 Weeks.

I'd like to start of this post by pointing out my signature says Take 2. Absolutely nonsense, this is more like Take 5 or 6.
11 weeks ago, I was his hospital. I'd felt ill for days and try to number the ill feeling by either sleeping or drinking, knowing fine well it was the drink that was making me ill. I went to see an out of hours doctor, told them that I was feeling ill (didn't mention the drink) and got sent up to a local hospital.
I was in admissions for hours, from mid afternoon until the early hours of Monday morning. Lying my head off, saying I hadn't been drinking. (In hindsight, I have no idea why). Got an ECG done, a few physical examinations, blood tests and had some drips inserted into me. I spent the first few hours in admissions worrying they were just going to send me home. If they had have done, nothing would have changed, but luckily they admitted me.
I was on a ward from Monday until Thursday. A horrible ward, not for the staff, they were great, but the other patients. They were all ill and for the same reason. I was told I was put on the liver specialist ward sa they suspected liver problems, but this, in reality, was the alcoholics ward.
I was discharged on the Thursday with a diagnosis of Hepatitis and basically advised by a high ranking consultant to stop drinking. I was lucky and this time I was listening. Those few days started me on the path to where I am now. I also straight away had my first big test. I was going on Holiday the following day on my own.
I got home and first thing I did was re-find this message board and post on here.
So, 11 weeks on, 77 days, not had a drink since the morning of when I was admitted, and physically I feel great. I still get the cravings, but I am occupying myself in other ways these days. My head can scream as much as it wants about having a drink, it's not getting one.
It's a long ongoing journey, we all know that, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on SR for being there to talk to and being so supportive and also for those times when we can have a laugh as well.
