each time gets easier I think
ps I’m on 4 months today
I made it through my 50th birthday sober (first sober birthday in 35 years since I picked up my first drink at 15 and have been drinking to get drunk ever since).
I made it through the passing away of both of my cherished, beloved parents which has absolutely shaken my world and turned it upside down with grief.
But I’m still sober, and I don’t intend to ever pick up an alcoholic drink again. Ever.
And somehow I know I will be ok.
My beautiful Mum and my dear Dad have passed on to me the qualities to persevere no matter what life throws my way. My kind and gracious Mum has instilled in me compassion, courage and a love of life that I’m only just starting to feel the beginnings of unfolding within me. She so loved life and adventure ❤️ And sober, I’m realising that there’s so much for me to see and do, I’d better get cracking
