Gah. I understand your frustration re doctors appointments. It really is a joke now. Most doctor surgeries do operate a triad (sp) system though. So they can give you a definite general appointment for in however many weeks, months or flippin years time, or if you phone first thing and say it's an emergency and can't wait til three weeks then they'll try and get you in that day. If they need to take samples or whatever it may be that an appointment with the nurse could get that ball rolling.
I really hate to be a nuisance at the surgery, but I'm coming to realise it's pretty much the only way to get seen with the current set-up. Last time I went it was because I had shingles. Man, I was poorly. Too poorly to want to do battle with docs receptionists but if course, I had to. Although I'm not blaming them. That's a job I wouldn't want to have to do.
Please do get a bit more insistent. YES it's urgent. NO it can't wait three weeks.
