OMG! Your work is tremendously awesome. I don't think your Thumbelina pictures look scary. Thumbelina looks sad, but the critters don't appear to be threatening or scary, at least to me.
My mother was Polish, with both her parents coming from Poland on the boat. My grandmother was 16 when she came over. There were 9 children in my mother's family. Of course all of them could speak Polish. There are 20+ grandchildren and not one of us can speak Polish. Everyone used to speak Polish when they didn't want us grandchildren to listen. I used to be able to say my prayers in Polish and had to recite them to my grandparents (they thought that was cute. I think I can still remember how to say, "Good Night" and "Give me a kiss".
