Day 15 sober and Newbie

Been browsing the forums for a while, even before I gave up alcohol. I’d had enough of drinking for a very long time but could never quit the habit. Always found an excuse to drink ( my poison is wine in the evenings. Not optimistic enough yet to say that in past tense...).
But after a heavy weekend of finishing off a litre bottle of rum when making mohitos ( all for myself...) and being terribly sick and ill the next day, I decided enough was enough. And that’s when I stopped.
It’s not been easy but my personal motto to keep me going is ( as I also suffer chronic depression) -if I drink tonight I’m guaranteed a bad day tomorrow. If I don’t drink, tomorrow ‘could’ be a bad day but also ‘could’ be a good day. And I’m willing to take the chance of not drinking in hope of more good days ahead I’m telling you!

I won’t spill my story or my struggles but guess now that I’ve done this far, it might be handy to contribute/ engage with the group a bit as it might do me some good.

Anyway, have a good day!
