My kids are grown now, but I do remember when they were little. I had to MAKE time for myself and I liked to get out and walk outside....long walks. When I'm out walking I feeling like I am drawing energy and new life from the fresh air, sky,God, breezes and nature. So even though I am putting out energy by walking, I am gaining effervescence. I like to walk alone and not have anyone to distract from my meditation. That may sound selfish, but it really helps me. My walk time is FOR me.
