I'm not sure I understand your question. Of course it's not
necessarily a goal. We are all responsible for setting our own goals and if we decide that this is abstinence then that is our decision and it is our responsibility to achieve it.
Re. JT, he does present the structural model as a biological fact and not as a theory.
