I think it's very hard for ambulance crews and emergency room staff to diagnose mental health issues, so I'd probably cut them a little slack.
I noticed you weren't posting here very much - were you doing anything else to stay sober?
I'm not asking in a critical way. I just know I really needed to stay connected to my support network in the early days.
