I used to tell people I had an ulcer and wasn't allowed to drink. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying something like that. It's not really anyone's business. And I also didn't want them to think that just because I wasn't drinking, they shouldn't.
But that said, I did end up losing contact with most of the people I drank with because my tolerance for stupid conversation went down. It just got kind of boring.
