I just remembered that there is a "polar bear plunge" into the ocean on New Year's Day here - last year was the first one, it's at a place with a hot tub, too. I would have to wear a wetsuit (which I have, thankfully) but maybe I'll do that. I meant to go last year and then didn't. Thanks, tnek - for the reminder!
