Thanks Dragon, babs, Dee and Sassy. We do get close to our pets, they’re part of our family.
After the death of my brother Alfie, when I was nearly 10 and he was 12 , my mum, knowing we had been very close, got me a cat to care for. I think somewhere deep rooted, I transferred the love for my brother to my cats over the years, loving and caring for them as I did my brother. He was part mentally and physically disabled and was given as much love and help as we knew how. My dad said him and mum thought I was born to support Alfie. We were very close. He had a very short life and died of a brain tumour but was a very happy person.
After he died my mum chose religion to help her through and my dad chose booze, or that is how I perceived it.
