You know what else I didn't know? That alcohol causes osteoporosis. I met a guy that was 50 YO in an AA meeting who had to have both hips replaced due to alcoholic osteoporosis. He had to use a walker, due in part to his back being in bad shape, too. He was one of the "lucky" ones who didn't drink himself to death at 40, like so many do. There are more ways to suffer and die from this than I ever imagined.
