I've found you have To be honest with docs. They can't help you if you hide for pride. Mine told me I would have to stop drinking for life. I tried thinking I could do it my way. I am realizing he is most likely right.
For context, I entered outpatient treatment after 10ish years of occasional problem drinking, with 5 years of escalation, and 2 years of classic addiction. I have 25 days clean today, longest in a decade. 2 AA and one NA meeting this week in top of treatment. I am making this one count.
