Joe got booed off Stage at Red Rocks in the '70s because he was too impaired to play, or finish a Show. So, his triumphant, Sober return to this Venue was a real Personal Victory.
Joe's serious Drinking reportedly began after his young Daughter was run down fatally in a Boulder Colorado Crosswalk at the bottom of a steep Hill. He's a real Survivor, having sobered up several Decades ago.
