One thing in your post resonated with me: you mentioned that your spouse sabotaged all your efforts to make the farm a viable business.
I have that as well, though on a much smaller scale. My alcoholic sib lives with my mother in her home. He tries to circumvent everything I do to make her life more comfortable.
I ordered new aluminum storm doors because her old wood ones were warped and leaking energy. He snorted and said we didn't need them.
I put up a new bi fold door on her downstairs bath. He came to look at it just as I was finishing up to tell me how I was doing it wrong.
I install night lights. He unplugs them.
He screws up the television because he pushed the wrong button on the remote.
I throw things away. He digs them out of the trash.
Honestly, there are days when I want to fill his pockets with rocks and shove him into the ocean.
That is actually a comforting visual for me, sick, sad puppy that I am.
