I don't know about helping others get sober, but what I heard that helped me was hearing
going to meetings and not drinking don't treat alcoholism.
working the steps does.
plus
don't quit 5 seconds before the miracle happens.
don't drink even if your ass falls off.
help me help you help me.( that one confused me for a while)
