I always dismissed the talk of PAWS symptoms flaring up around anniversaries as old wives' tales -- your central nervous system doesn't keep a calendar, after all -- until it happened to me. Sure enough, around one year, I had a bout of shakiness, brain fog, poor memory, insomnia, and anxiety that made me feel like it was Day One again.
This too shall pass.
