Respectfully disagree. I've been nothing but honest about my drinking past where I work. I don't have any "fantasy job". I work in allied health, and I have more support than ever. In fact, being totally open and honest has not only given me the respect of my peers, but also allowed me to help others in the workplace who have questions of their own about alcoholism and recovery.
Well you are lucky. A woman in HR where I work will openly admit she hated alcoholics because her father was one. I don't think I would go there if I still needed help. All it takes is to tell one person with the way social media is now.
