I have to wonder what they mean by this, or why they placed their warning against hanging out with "dry drunks" immediately after their warning against hanging out with active substance abusers. They either don't believe that anyone can actually quit for good, or they don't like it when people do.

They may ostensibly be warning against dangers, but perhaps some of these addiction treatment industry types may be pulling people down by predicting relapses for anyone who summarily quits drinking and using.
