I believe it will get better with time. People have told me how much better I look (at only 3 weeks) even though I've managed to gain 5 lbs already. I've been drinking TONS of water and trying to get some exercise. Hoping to up the workouts soon. Be patient with yourself. It took us a while to do the damage so it's likely to take a while to un-do. Of course, as alcholholics, we want what we want and we want it NOW!!! Lol.
