I recall those early sober work dinners - every other member of the team drinking. I remember the anxiousness, the feeling left out, the feeling somehow lesser.
I remember as that faded. I remember seeing more and more non-drinkers. I remember the feeling of being "left out" fading into a feeling of comfort and strength.
These days, I'm often the only non-drinker - and it doesn't faze me at all.
