Tetra, here's one. I had been comfortably ensconced in one position for about two years when I got pregnant with my son. While on maternity leave (this was 11 years ago now) I stopped in the office to show off the baby. My supervisor pulled me aside and asked me if I would be amenable to switching to a different position. I thought about it for a second and said "I suppose. Anywhere but X." The week before I was to return to work I got a call at home telling me that I was being switched over to X. I was livid. However, over the course of time I discovered that I actually preferred X and was again not happy when they up and moved me to Y, this time without even asking if I wanted to go.

I've adjusted all along to these moves and recently, as I said, it's been changing by the week it seems. We are extremely short staffed so i go where I'm needed. You can do this.
