I think many of us addictive thinkers would tend to tick up other behaviors when we quit drinking--for me, I have definitely consumed more coffee (am trying to taper down--see no problem with 1-2 cups a day), and I have definitely developed an affinity for sweet things, which I have NEVER liked. I did manage to quit smoking many years ago, but if I still smoked, that probably would have temporarily increased too.

I think really it is whatever feels right to a person. Some people feel they must quit everything at once--that is very hard for most people. but some people can do it. Some people quit things in stages, which I think is more common and sustainable. But it's an individual choice, really, and a matter of how comfortable you are with that choice. For me, caffeine has not even been on my radar until now, at 5 months of sobriety. I am now tapering down, but will ALWAYS have my morning coffee.
