Is it possible you can drop your attorney and do it yourself? Certainly you are well informed of what he was going to present to the court. Lots of people represent themselves. Or is it too late and you can't change the continuance if you wanted to? I'd be very wary of driving saying it was "for work" if it isn't. You may have a lot to prove that. Sucks the huge continuance. Was he a single attorney office?
