Well, for one, these people have known me for quite a long time. They know I was a big drinker. I'm done bartending in 6 weeks. I was just trying to get through the summer, and it was working as an alternative. "No, thanks..." just doesn't work. I've tried to explain that before. I actually bartended for several years during college so I do understand completely well how it works. You do have a choice, and you are legally responsible as a server to maintain a safe environment actually. Your friend might not "like" it but you have every right to simply say no.
