A year in review

I was reading over old posts I've created over the 16 months on this site and 2 others I use. I stopped drinking on 31/12/14, drunk for 5 days in the end of March 2015 & finally stopped on 1/4/15 - so a year up
It's so easy to be grateful for having made it so far when I read and remember the fear, symptoms, thinking, attitude and struggles I’ve dealt with so far.
It certainly isn't a simple thing and in saying no to alcohol I've learnt volumes about myself, what alcohol is to me, what's important in life and where I need to improve in myself.
My attitude and outlook are the clear winners in what to fix next. I started an 8-week Mindfulness Meditation at home course 5 weeks ago and stopped after 3 weeks. As usually I over thought it and tried to incorporate other behavioural and stress/anger management technics into my routine. It's frustrating that I know it's best to focus on one major thing at a time but I constantly, very unnecessarily add more to it. Ultimately I have no doubt I’ll get there as I have an honest belief in the benefits of mindfulness.
Anyway, a can only throw a massive thankyou out to all those who contribute to this site, especially the moderators. Your knowledge, assistance, understanding and at time patience is certainly a pivotal thing that has kept me sober. I'd have to say whilst these people and sites have been essential in my sobriety they have also inspired and driven me to be a less judgemental, more giving and overall better person.
Have a great weekend all.
Cheers
