Remember the rant I had about dropoff animals and how I really want to have a chat with the sort of people who would drop a cat off in the country and expect others to care for it? Well... the dropped-off cat that inspired that rant was pregnant. I suspect this is why she was dropped off.

Anyway, I fell asleep on the couch in front of the TV again last night (I really should stop doing that... but it's a really comfy couch).

Long about 3:30 in the morning I was awakened by a wee tiny "mew". Seems little miss kitty decided that on the couch snuggled up with me was the right place to have her kittens. So I played kitty midwife for about an hour (to the limited extent that a cat needs a midwife, that is) and now there are 4 teensy kittens and one tired mama cat at my house.
