My sponsor's wife, who has 40+ years clean and sober in AA, is very active in that program. She always has a half dozen women she is sponsoring. Every so often some sponsee's would move out of town, or go back out, and she would find herself with not enough to do with her free time. She would then go on "sponsee hunt" looking for women to add to her "clutch".

I would get "borrowed" to go with her to a meeting of AA, she would stand me in a corner and then ask me to tell her which of the women in the meeting I felt attracted to. She would then say "Oh good, those have to be the sickest ones in the room" and she would go offer to sponsor them.

< heavy sigh >

It's not a super power, it's more like a super radar for dysfunction. The good news is that now I _avoid_ the "pings" on my radar instead of seeking them out.
