I used to take benzos a few years ago and not knowing the addictiveness of them I stopped them abrubtly and went into severe withdrawals. I did some research and found a taper program called the Ashton Taper Protocol developed by a doctor in the UK.
The plan call for using long lasting benzos in a taper protocol that makes the withdrawals non-existent. I printed out the protocol and took it to my doctor and requested to follow the plan. I followed the plan and never once went through withdrawal.
