Incredibly grateful over the past several days that STBXAH happens to be in an "up" part of his usual cycle with his disease. His dog continues to deteriorate and have issues, and STBXAH has generally been handling it responsibly and with his dog's best interests at heart. I've stayed informed, because I adore this dog and miss him terribly, but thus far I haven't had to get overly involved to advocate for an elderly dog in the face of a crazy, alcoholic's denial and ridiculousness. STBXAH seems to be looking out for the dog's best interests all on his own, which is a huge relief.
