naltrexone is being used in a weird way in the US -- in Europe to is used for people who do not want to stop and you take it before drinking to lower the risk of over indulging because when you drink you supposedly don't get the compulsion. Never tried it myself, but I do have my doubts about its efficacy for abstinence.
Long way of saying I would talk with our doctor about what you are feeling, and maybe do a bit more research on side effects and efficacy.
