One day in the first six months of sobriety i was on my favorite hike and i got one of those thoughts of drinking that was really persistent. I started thinking about how everyone here would tell me not to do it, and i started listing every username i could think of in my head. I bet i came up with thirty or so, from memory. Every username i thought of, i thought, "oh, he/she would tell me not to do it, he/she is on my side, they are pulling for me, they are fighting the same fight, etc." it worked.

The list on this thread usually has 40-60 names a day. If you are struggling, write them down, or print the list and carry it with you. We are your people. We want you to succeed.
