I hope my story was more uplifting than sad. Reading back over it, I guess it does seem very sad. But he was a good friend, and he inspired me and believed in my writing, very early on. He was a good influence (apart from the drinking, of course). I have many great memories of us during that time. Many more good memories that triumph over the loss of his life. He lived a very exciting life.
I am thankful I knew him.
