I used to think black out was like 'pass out' but it's not.
I've heard it from people that I was this place doing that - usually something out of character but functioning completely normally to outside eyes...and I'd have absolutely no memory of it at all.
If you haven't experienced that you're lucky - it's incredibly wise to get out of the cycle before you do.
