I wanted an Alexa, and since we bought a new 4k Smart TV, I saw that the new Fire TV has both 4k streaming hardware, but added Alexa to its voice search capability. For folks looking to buy a TV streaming device trust me, I had the newest Roku but that trying to use the onboard keyboard one search then click at a time was the pits. I have all my streaming on the new one as well as the old Fire TV now on my main 27 inch quad HD all in one desktop that I have had for two years, the longest I have ever owned one computer. I now can start playing with Alexa too without the extra box. However we have to turn on the TV and the soundbar to use her. We have Cortana on our phones and will see what we think of Alexa. We might want her separate always on box too.
