Woah, JL! That's a tough one. Looks like one for the, "No good deed goes unpunished" category. However, I don't see anything to be ashamed of, and I don't see ANY crappy father here. You did a good thing. Someone was in need and you tried to help. I like your snatch and grab recovery plan. Hope it works without incident. I think the hard thing is to not let it eat at you. Easier said than done. Maybe trust that someone bigger than us had a need for this guy to use the truck...maybe it kept someone else from a bad situation or something. Who knows. IMHO, never be ashamed by good deeds and kindness. Adding you and this situation to my prayer list!!!
