things that helped me cope

Since being in a relationship with a recovering alcoholic for two years who is now in rehab for twelve months with no contact my anxiety has got the better of me. The usual anxiety attacks, paranoia and insomnia have taken over my life, but I started to do a few things that have helped me cope and feel better.
To start with I started keeping a diary the day my partner went to rehab and I write it to him as if we are having a chat. It gives me some release in my emotions and anxiety, getting my feelings down on paper lets it out. Also he can read it when he comes home which reassures me he wont have missed out on anything.
I talk to my close friends about it and they are good listeners, its always nice to have someone who is willing to listen to my ranting and tolerate the mood swings which make me very apologetic afterwards.
Finding out how to deal with worry and anxiety helped as I had no idea where to start. I read the anxiety forum here with the steps on how to stop worrying and its helped me alot. If you suffer badly with worry and anxiety please read it, it does work. I've even shared it with a friend who suffers with anxiety and its worked for her too.
Last but no means least, I joined this forum to help me feel that I'm not alone and receive the support I need from others experiencing the same feelings as me. To know that I'm not alone is an immense feeling and without your kind messages I can honestly say I would have drove myself insane.
Thank you to all who have responded to me already. I believe we can get through anything with the right support.
