Just read a newspaper article about a man I used to work with approx 5 years ago. He had left the company already when he got in a horrific drunk driving crash and killed 2 young adults a couple years ago. He was just sentenced to many years in jail. He apparently said at sentencing that he had had 30 years of sobriety before he started drinking again.
I'm so grateful that I didn't do anything like this - I easily could have, I definitely rolled the dice with driving and drinking last year. A good reminder to me of the importance of remaining vigilant and acceptance of a sober lifestyle.
